Description
Bioavailability and Pharmacokinetics
Pharmacotherapeutic group: Probiotics. ATC code: A07FA51.Pharmacology: Lobun Plus is an oral probiotic combination that contains 4 different probiotic strains that target and metabolize various nitrogenous wastes that diffuse from the bloodstream into the bowel. These beneficial probiotic strains have a high affinity to metabolize and consume the targeted nitrogenous waste products. It helps maintain the concentration of nitrogenous metabolites in the blood, in the intestines, and also stabilizes the healthy intestinal flora. Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum and Bacillus coagulans [ranee izvestni kak lactobacillus sporogenes], consisting of naturally occurring microbes, metabolizes various nitrogenous wastes passing from the bloodstream to the intestine. These naturally occurring intestinal microorganisms have the ability to digest and consume nitrogenous waste. Streptococcus thermophilus is a high urease or microbial urease user. Bacillus lactic acid in Lobun Plus is a non-pathogenic live spore that can grow in the intestine, survive stomach acid, and multiply with its own potency. Probiotic has equal adhesion ability with local flora. Shows a symbiotic relationship with the host and promotes metabolic activity. Lactobacillus acidophilus, which occurs mainly in the small intestine, helps control intestinal infections. Bifidobacterium longum helps replace putrefactive bacteria in the gut and reduces toxins in the gut mechanism occurs in the large intestine. As kidney function declines, nitrogenous wastes accumulate in the blood, and excess wastes pass into the intestinal fluid as a result of a natural physiological process caused by impaired kidney function. The mechanism of action of the probiotic occurs as follows:
- Nitrogenous waste is distributed to the large intestine through an extensive network of blood vessels.
- Probiotic microbes enter the large intestine in the ileocecal section.
- Once in the large intestine, microbes direct and metabolize the uremic nitrogenous waste as food for their growth.
- Microbes begin to multiply and this, in turn, allows more nitrogenous waste from the circulating blood stream to enter the intestine.
- Metabolites of "nitrogenous waste/microbes" are eventually excreted from the body in the form of solid faecal waste.
Applications: Azotemia/uremia.
Decreased nephrotoxicity.
Delaying the need for dialysis in patients with CKD/patients on hemodialysis.
Control the complications of CKD.
Dose range
Direction for use: For adult, take one capsule daily, preferably with meal, or as directed by a healthcare professional. Method of administration and doses: Take 1 to 2 capsules per day, with meals or as directed by a healthcare professional. It is important to note that Lobun Plus needs to be taken for a full 3 months to see the benefits of improvement. The dose can be increased according to the instructions of the attending physician. The capsule should not be opened or chewed, but should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Lobun Plus capsules are most effective when taken immediately after each meal.
